The cPCI 3U Load Board acts as a precise load simulator for CompactPCI systems, enabling reliable electrical and thermal testing. It produces configurable resistive loads across the standard supply rails (+5 V, +3.3 V, +12 V, –12 V), allowing engineers to verify power capacity and heat dissipation in realistic operating conditions. Built-in thermal protection ensures that the board shuts itself off when temperatures exceed safe limits (120 °C), then automatically resumes once cooled. With sensing circuits for both voltage and temperature, it provides insight into system behavior under stress — all within a compact 3U, 4HP form factor.
