Kontron launches 5G Mobile Private Network for German production facility

Kranj, Slovenia and Augsburg, Germany, February 28, 2024 – Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), has launched a commercial 5G campus network at Kontron Europe GmbH's production and warehouse facilities in Augsburg, Germany.

Kontron’s 5G Standalone Core network is a turnkey next-generation solution, offering secure and efficient 5G connectivity. Tailored for industrial operations, this pre-integrated product ensures a swift time-to-service deployment, enabling advanced and intelligent operations in diverse environments while safeguarding sensitive data on-site.

Kontron’s comprehensive industrial 5G Private Network solution enables new levels of highly secure wireless connectivity with high bandwidth, and low latency, as well as excellent coverage and stability at the Kontron Augsburg manufacturing facility. This modern infrastructure can be managed effortlessly by local IT staff or configured and maintained remotely as a service.

It offers a safe investment in a future-proof, robust networking infrastructure that supports current and future needs for wireless connectivity in the factory and warehouse, enabling highly stable wireless Industry 4.0 use cases in conjunction with secure IT connectivity for mobiles and laptops.
