Teknor and Corrent Team to Accelerate e-Commerce Transactions

Partnership to develop time-to-market sub-system SSL accelerator solutions

Networld+Interop, Las Vegas, NV, May 9, 2001 - Teknor Applicom, a Kontron company, and Corrent Corporation, a fabless semiconductor start-up company developing high-performance standards-based Internet security processors, today announced a strategic partnership to co-develop reference design solutions based on Teknor´s board-level design expertise and Corrent´s Socket Armor silicon technology. By Q4, 2001, Teknor plans to launch an SSL accelerator reference design capable of encrypting and decrypting at gigabit line rates.

An SSL accelerator board-level solution co-developed by Teknor and Corrent provides customers with the ability to incorporate Corrent´s Internet security processors into their equipment. Using Corrent´s Socket Armor silicon technology, developers are capable of delivering high-performance streaming encryption at speeds of OC-3 to 1 Gbps, and generating more than 5,000 1024 bit RSA keys/sec, while offloading all security-related functions from the system processor without decline in optical data rates.

Along with Corrent´s family of Socket Armor processors that will accelerate e-commerce transactions, Corrent´s other first generation product families include a unique line of Packet Armor processors for Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) transmissions. Both families of processors encrypt data and send it securely across networks. Samples will be available in Q4 of 2001.
