At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

New Kontron AG launched

Merger of Kontron and Jumptec for form new Kontron AG completed / Share now listed on the Neuer Markt (list. no. 605395)

Eching near Munich, 20. August 2002. The merger of Kontron Embedded Computers AG (list. no. 523990) with JUMPtec Industrielle Computertechnik AG (list. no. 609060) has been completed. The new Kontron AG was registered in the trade register in the middle of August and the share has been trading since 14. August 2002 (list. no. 605395). The two companies have merged to become the world?s largest producer of miniaturised computers by a large margin. What is more Kontron AG is able to offer the entire product range in this area. Kontron AG, with its headquarters in Eching near Munich, is expecting a turnover of 230 million ? for the current business year. A comprehensive efficiency improvement program aims to increase the EBITDA margin to 8 percent in the 4. quarter.
