New Endeavor Family Increases Performance / Price Value for Entry Level Pentium® Processor Single-Board Computers
SAN DIEGO, CA June 1, 1999 ICS Advent, formerly Industrial Computer Source, announces its new Endeavor family of single board computers, offering users a highly reliable and affordable entry level solution for computer telephony, telecommunications and factory automation/process control applications.
"The Endeavor family of Celeron(tm) processors based single board computersrepresents an outstanding price / performance value for the VAR, OEM and end user," said Jim Jameson, President of ICS Advent. Based on the Intel® Celeron(tm) processor and 440BX chipset, the Endeavor series is comprised of two full featured models with clock speeds up to 466MHz. The boards are identical in terms of features, with the exception of an optional Ultra SCSI-3 controller. Both boards offer ISA/PCI bus passive backplane architecture, 128KB of L2 cache and onboard SVGA 3D accelerated graphics controllers. The Endeavor boards also feature the ability to selectively disable all onboard peripherals, including the watchdog timer.
Other standard features include dual EIDE, floppy interface, Ethernet 10/100 controller, a bi-directional parallel port and PS/2, keyboard and speaker ports. Operating system support includes Windows NT V4.0, 95 and 98, SCO UNIX, QNX and Solaris.
