Kontron opens Avionics Systems Integration Lab in the US

Augsburg, September 16, 2014 – Kontron AG, a leading global provider of Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), today announced the opening of its new Avionics Systems Integration Lab (SIL) located at its North American headquarters in Poway, California. Kontron’s SIL provides its customers with an advanced, full-simulation testing facility for new-generation, highly successful avionics in-flight entertainment (IFE) and wireless connectivity technologies.

“Given the speed of technology change, it is paramount for our customers to minimize deployment risk and roll out their systems on the aircraft efficiently. By providing an accurate simulation of the WiFi cabin environment and applicable aircraft interfaces, Kontron’s new Systems Integration Lab provides a valuable test bed for new technologies. We maintain a variety of personal electronic devices in sufficient numbers to help customers fully validate their Wireless IFE and connectivity applications prior to installation,” says Eric Sivertson, Executive Vice President responsible for the Business Unit Avionics, Transportation and Defense.
