At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

Emerson Network Power and Kontron AG, the global market leaders in embedded computing, are joining forces to serve the Japanese market together.

Eching, Munich, October 21, 2009. Emerson Network Power and Kontron AG, the global market leaders in embedded computing, are joining forces to serve the Japanese market together. Emerson will be the master channel partner for both Emerson and Kontron products in Japan including all sales, customer support & related activities under the Emerson brand. Customers will be served via an established network of direct and distribution channels, providing both sales & support using Emerson’s service center & partners. Kontron and Emerson will jointly provide all product engineering, application engineering & technical support. Through this collaboration in Japan, customers will have access to the best technologies, products & solutions that both Kontron and Emerson offer.
