Annual General Meeting of Kontron AG: “New Kontron” measures on track

Augsburg, 5 June 2014 – Kontron AG, a leading global provider of Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), is well on track regarding the implementation of comprehensive cost cutting and efficiency measures in the context of the “New Kontron” program. During the Annual General Meeting in Augsburg, Kontron AG’s CEO Rolf Schwirz reported on the progress of these measures and explained the reasons for relocating the company to Augsburg and Deggendorf. Management plans to exploit synergies in research and development, production, and distribution and to enhance the company’s innovative strengths and effectiveness further, he said.

CEO Rolf Schwirz gave a confident outlook for the current year: “From today’s perspective, we remain fully convinced that the ‘New Kontron’ measures were necessary. The results we have achieved so far also suggest that we will reach our targets to strengthen the competitive position of Kontron sustainably. We intend to grow profitably in 2014 while at the same time strengthening and improving our global market position long term.”

At the Annual General Meeting of Kontron AG, a large majority of shareholders voted in favour of the proposals submitted by the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board on the remuneration schedule for the Supervisory Board and the ratification of the acts of management of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board. The shareholders also adopted various changes to the articles of association, including the relocation of the corporate headquarters to Augsburg. The close to 200 shareholders who attended the event in Augsburg’s SGL Arena represented about 55 of the voting capital.
