Kontron AG, the world?s leading supplier of miniaturised computers, achieved turnover revenues of 60,2 million euros in the 3. quarter of this year. Following the merger of Kontron Embedded Computer AG with Jumptec Industrielle Computer Technik AG (consolidated on July 3rd, 2002) to become the new Kontron AG this represents an increase of more than 5 percent compared to the previous year period (56,9 million euros) on a pro forma basis. Taking the nine month period, there has been a slight decline in turnover revenues in the first three quarters of 2001 from 199 million euros to 193 million euros this year (also on pro forma basis).
As far as earnings are concerned EBITDA amounted to 3.3 million euros in the third quarter compared to 3.1 million euros in the previous year period. With 0,9 million euros EBIT was significantly above last years level (- 0,9 million euros), the quarterly surplus amounted to 0,5 million euros. This corresponds to 1 cent per share. The cost, cash and liquidity situation has developed very positively. Costs were once again reduced from 25.7 million euros in the 2. quarter of this year to 23.2 million euros in the 3. quarter. Liquidity is at 60 million euros, 49 million euros is on hand in cash and a positive operative cash flow of 1.6 million euros in the 3. quarter make the financial situation a very good one according to the Kontron board. Compared to the 2. quarter the orders backlog has increased from 95 million euros to 97 million euros in the 3. quarter giving rise to restrained optimism according to Kontron. In spite of the lastingly poor condition of the world economy Kontron is expecting slightly increased revenue turnovers in the fourth quarter of this year. Towards the end of the year the EBITDA margin is to grow to approximately 8 percent.
