Kontron presents FusionView Industrial Monitor

Frameless design for robust industrial monitors

Augsburg, Germany, November 16, 2017 – Kontron, a leading global provider of Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), has introduced the Kontron FusionView series, expanding its Fusion series of Human-Machine-Interface solutions (HMI). The FusionView industrial monitors are based on the innovative frameless design of the Kontron FusionClient series. They offer an easy to clean, scratch-proof, anti-glare front panel with an optional PCAP multi-touch screen. The monitors are available in display sizes from 10.1” up to 21.5” and can be used in either landscape- or portrait format. Their modular design allows for easy customization according to individual customer needs.

The Kontron FusionView front panel is IP65-protected and designed specifically for industrial settings. The PCAP Multi-Touch-Display can be operated with or without gloves. An array of customer-specific options further expands the range of functions. An RFID reader which is installed behind the glass makes it possible to customize different authorization and security levels; thus providing in-depth access control. The optional LED alarm bar ensures enhanced user experience and increased visibility of processes and production status.

Users further have the option of incorporating Wi-Fi connectivity (including pre-installed antennas) for easy integration into existing networks. All FusionView monitors are highly shock and vibration resistant and are perfectly suited for operation in a temperature range from 0°C to 50°C. Their robust design ensures high product availability and minimizes maintenance requirements.

Additionally, the Kontron FusionView series supports Kontron WideLink, a technology that implements data communication between a remote visualization unit and control computer through a standard CAT6a Ethernet cable at up to 100 meters distance from the control computer. This enables efficient and ergonomic visualization solutions in especially complex and expansive production facilities.

The FusionView industrial monitors feature a Displayport, a DVI interface as well as an USB 3.0 data connection. Display adjustments can be made either through OSD via capacitive buttons, or via software applications (‘Soft-OSD’). The OSD buttons can be freely configured for easy access to individual functionality. The Kontron FusionView series supports Windows 7, Windows 10 and Linux. The FusionView monitors provide high-definition imaging of data and offer an intuitive user interface which makes them an ideal choice for control applications in the production process and utilization in medical technology.
