Kontron FlatClient and FlatView: Versatile and Industrial Grade Panel PCs and Monitors

New Kontron HMI product families in widescreen and standard aspect ratios

Augsburg, July 6, 2017 – Kontron, a leading global provider of Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), has introduced two ranges of robust, industrial grade Panel PCs and monitors, which are a direct result of the portfolio harmonization after its recent merger with S&T Group. The Kontron FlatClient and FlatView series offer maximum flexibility in an attractively priced package. Both are market proven solutions, with a large number of devices currently in operation in the industrial field. They are available in numerous versions and display sizes from 10.1” up to 23.8” in either widescreen aspect ratios of 16:9 or 16:10 and standard aspect ratios of 4:3 and 5:4. This makes Kontron one of only a few companies in the market today offering state of the art processor and display technology in 4:3 and 5:4 regular aspect ratio devices.

Both product families come in a full metal housing either for VESA mounting (stand-alone version) or for direct integration into machines or consoles (built-in version). Kontron’s FlatClient and FlatView devices are available with either projected capacitive touchscreen (PCAP), resistive touchscreen or protection glass options. Each device can be equipped with RFID readers.

The Kontron FlatClient Panel PC product family is organized in two different lines. The ECO line utilizes Intel Atom® processors, while the FlatClient PRO line uses Intel® Core™ CPUs. The ECO line features two Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), one HDMI, one VGA, two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port. The PRO line has three GbE, two Displayport and four USB 3.0 ports built in. Both lines can be optionally equipped with two serial ports (RS232, RS422, RS485), one audio interface, one RFID module and one CF/SD card reader. Depending on the processor in use, Kontron FlatClient Panel PCs support Windows 7, Windows 8.1 including its dedicated embedded versions, Windows 10 IoT and Linux.

Kontron FlatView industrial monitors, just like all FlatClient Panel PCs, are available in numerous versions featuring various display sizes, aspect ratios and resolutions. These range from compact 10.1” options with a resolution of 1280x800 up to 23.8” models with 1920x1080.

Both FlatView and FlatClient product families are highly customizable with individual customer designs for the front and back panels of the device, including the integration of corporate logos. All FlatView and FlatClient devices feature a fanless, maintenance-free design and are highly resistant to shocks and vibrations. Both product families come with an easy to clean, anti-glare, scratch-proof IP65 front panel as standard.

Kontron FlatClient Panel PCs and FlatView industrial monitors are CE as well as cULus certified and are available for order in large quantities as well.
