SAN DIEGO, CA - September 10, 1999 - ICS Advent, formerly Industrial Computer Source, announces the immediate availability of a new hot-swappable, 400W redundant power supply option for its popular 7520 Series of 20-slot rackmount chassis. The -44HR power supply option ensures overall system uptime for high-availability computer telephony, process control, telecom and other mission-critical applications in which operational reliability and downtime avoidance are of paramount concern.
The -44HR power option provides an added failsafe to system operation in the form of a second 400W supply in an N+1 configuration, in which both supplies equally share the systems load during normal operation. Should either power supply fail, the other would assume the full 400W system load. An LED on the front panel of the 7520 chassis indicates normal power supply operation, and an audible alarm is provided to alert the user in the event of a power supply failure. Should one occur, the defective supply could then be quickly "hot-swapped" with a replacement module without shutting the system down.
The 7520 Series general usage platform capably fills the diverse niche needs of todays industrial and telephony marketplaces, offering standard ISA bus technology in 20-slot single, dual and quad computer configurations. Chassis options include PICMG ISA/PCI combination backplanes with up to 16 full-length PCI slots in single computer configurations. The chassis normally comes with a single 300 Watt output power supply, but may be ordered with 400W or 500W power, as well. A 48VDC input power option is also available.
