KONTRON´S NEW ETX-P3Tx MODULE KICKS UP I/O AND VIDEO PERFORMANCE FOR GRAPHICS AND I/O INTENSIVE APPLICATIONS

Newest Kontron COM Product Features Sleek New Intel(R) Celeron(R) ULV Processors; ATI Mobility Radeon Video Controllers Plus Four USB 2.0 Ports

SAN DIEGO, CA - October 4, 2004 - Kontron, a market leader in embedded computer technology, today announced the introduction of the ETX-P3Tx, the latest addition to their ETX family of embedded modules. An ETX (Embedded Technology eXtended) module provides complete PC functionality in a component that plugs into an application-specific carrier board. The new ETX-P3Tx computer on module (COM) uses Intel(R) Celeron(R) ULV processors paired with Intel Northbridge (82815 GMCH) and Southbridge (82801DB ICH-4) chipsets to ensure the highest performance achievable on an ETX module at reasonable power consumption. Exceptional performance in graphics and I/O intensive applications is provided by an ATI Mobility Radeon M6 or M7 video controller (M9 option also available upon request) and four USB 2.0 ports. Improved power management is achieved using both ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) and APM 1.2 (Advanced Power Management).

In addition to standard ETX features, the ETX-P3Tx supports 2x IDE ports with support for ATA 33/66, up to 512Mbytes SDRAM, 10/100 Mbit Base-T ethernet, Audio AC97 Codec VIA, DVI and TV-out (optional), LVDS up to SXGA 1280x1024, keyboard/mouse controllers, real-time clock, and watchdog timer.
