Kontron Mobile Computing Completes Delivery of $4 Million-Plus Order to United States Army

In-Vehicle computers now supporting deployed Army field information system

Eden Prairie, Minn. May 17, 2001 - FieldWorks, Inc. d/b/a Kontron Mobile Computing (OTC BB: FWRX), today announced that it has completed its scheduled delivery of an order valued at more than $4 million to United States Army.

The contract, originally announced on January 17, 2001, involved the supply of modular, in-vehicle computers - a flagship product in the companys line of rugged, mobile computers. The order was delivered to the Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pennsylvania.

"With this delivery, we now have more than 1,000 FW2000 units deployed throughout the U.S. and the Balkans," said Thomas Sparrvik, President and CEO, Kontron Mobile Computing. "Many of these units are being used for the first time in actual live situations for border patrol, after being used in test and training missions in recent years. Were very pleased with the success of this initial campaign."

The FW2000 units are being used for situational awareness using global positioning systems and are installed in Army-owned HMMWVs, which must withstand the rigors of off-road maneuvering as well as all-weather environments.
