At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

Kontron at CeBIT Asia 2002 in Shanghai

Kontron Shanghai participated 4-day CeBIT Asia 2002 in Shanghai, which kicked off in Shanghai last Thursday. This is the second time of CeBIT boasted in Asia since last year. The show took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Pudong.

More than 500 IT companies from 25 countries are showcasing their state-of-art products and services at the fair. The estimated attracted visitors amount exceeds 50,000. The exhibition focus of the various displays is on products and solutions in the fields of information and telecommunication technology, network technology, e-commerce, software, Internet and office automation.

Group image and the products from Kontron companies all over the world are presented to the customers, CompatPCI, Mobile, Industrial computers. Especially for the exhibition focus, Kontron Shanghai prepared the latest high-tech CPCI technology cards and boards, chassis, systems and solutions such as VoIP, Gigabit Ethernet Gateway:
