Kontron AG posts total sales of over EUR 300 million in 2005

  • Record sales of EUR 93 million in Q4
  • EUR 3 million profit from Dolch order conservatively booked to goodwill
  • Sales and income forecast still met

Eching near Munich, 3 March 2006. Kontron AG has met its ambitious sales forecast for 2005 with record sales of EUR 93 million in Q4 and total revenue of EUR 300 million (previous year EUR 262 million). Although the audits are not yet complete, we anticipate that EBIT will be within expectations at nearly EUR 23 million (previous year EUR 20 million). The balance sheet and income structure will change following adjustments made as part of the final balancing of accounts for the Dolch Group, acquired in the first half of 2005. Accordingly, goodwill for example is down from EUR 90 million to around EUR 86 million.
The background: An order by subsidiary Dolch with payment receipts of just under EUR 3 million in business year 2005 was conservatively reclassified from sales and revenue to reduction of goodwill, as the deal originally dated from 2002. "This measure was the result of a deliberate decision on our part in favor of conservative financial accounting for Dolch’s integration, thereby at the same time significantly minimizing the risk for goodwill depreciations in the future," said Executive Board chairman Hannes Niederhauser.
