Eching near Munich, January 15, 2007. Kontron AG has again registered dynamic growth in both sales and earnings in the fourth quarter. According to preliminary figures, sales outstripped the record levels achieved in the third quarter. As a consequence, the company generated revenues of approximately ⬠400 million in the 2006 financial year. This corresponds to an increase of over 30% compared with the previous year.
Particularly on the earnings side, the fourth quarter experienced another gratifying rise compared with the third quarter, which returned a net profit for the period of ⬠6.6 million. This means that, as announced, Kontron's 2006 net earnings will have grown faster than its revenues. The Management Board of Kontron attributes the earnings growth to the Profit Improvement Program, and in particular to the new central basis production in Malaysia. In order to achieve further cost, synergy, and quality effects from this area, Dr Martin Zurek was appointed a further member of the Management Board on January 15, 2007. Dr Zurek, who is 40 years old, will be responsible for the Global Production area.
